One of the things many starting companies need in order to survivor their initial inception, besides great press, is a brand that people can recognize – a trademark. One of the best ways you can bolster your brand though is through exposure through channels of social media.

For example, let’s say you were working for a renewable energy website like say texaselectricityproviders.com or something – this is hypothetical so go with it. You could make a Facebook page with the brand proudly displayed for all to see, and if you filled out your page then people would have an idea about your company and the brand to associate with it. The same could be done with a MySpace page and even, to a smaller extent, a Twitter page.

Granted, we aren’t talking about any kind of major leak of state secrets or anything unprofessional – just free and easy to use ways that you can get some publicity and people can grow more familiar with your brand. Sure beats television advertising and it is not nearly as expensive – in fact, for some of these services, you might be able to get away with it for free. Just remember, however you decide to use social media to market your image, make sure you do it right. People need to associate good things with your brand in order to bolster your company’s exposure.

These are some basic secrets to developing an online brand identity for yourself, your business, or your products.

Standing out from the crowd is important and marketing yourself as something different is the best way to start.

Be seen and be visiible. To achieve success you must make your brand seen as much as possible. Take your brand out with you networking it, writing about it, speaking about it, and anything else you can use to promote your brand.

Create an online presence for your brand identitiy, by establishing yourself online you become easier to find and accessible to the public.

Come up with as unique and memorable of a brand name for your identitiy as possible. Set yourself appart by not using a common name or term for your identitiy.

Stake claim on your identity by grabbing up your brand name on domains, usernames, email accounts, social networks, and anywhere else that keeps others from using them first.

In the most general sense you are laying the foundation for what will be your presence when the world sees and hears of your brand identity for the first time. This is a starting point for everything that it becomes later.

The development of an online company and creating a brand identity is a troublesome and a remarkably time consuming feat, however, we have 6 helpful hints that may make it easier for you to achieve your goals!

Research! Research! Research! So many times it seems that people jump in “over their heads” and before they know it they’re left with less than what they originally began with. This could be due to any number of things but with the right research done, before investing more time and money, the better chances you have of a positive outcome.

Develop a plan and set goals! Doing this can help you pinpoint where you are on the ladder of success! and using your planning guide to achieve your goals makes it easier to develop your company.

Marketing is one of the most important factors you will ever use. Marketing attracts new clientele, helps re-establish already existing clientele and strengthens your success as a company.

Teamwork! Just as important as any other building block, teamwork is needed to help keep your plans running smoothly and stress free. By having a group of motivated and enthusiastic people working with you your goals will flourish!

Lastly there is discipline and motivation. Sometimes this is the hardest. Having the ability to keep going even when things are not looking great will payoff with huge rewards later!

Many people think of a brand is just a company’s logo or slogan, but it is much more than that. A company’s brand is like its personality. It should reflect what the company does or sells and what the company stands for. Here are some tips on how to build a brand identity.

1. Use your brand on all correspondences with customers. Use the company’s logo as a profile picture on Facebook and Twitter. Include the logo and slogan, if applicable, on newsletters and on letterhead. Repeated exposure to a brand will increase brand recognition.

2. Use branding logos and text on all packaging. If the company has a brick and mortar store, use the logo on shopping bags, gift boxes, and other items used to package sold items. For companies that ship products, use the logo on packing boxes, labels, and even on packing tape.

3. Get personal. Use the brand to blog, tweet, and post on Facebook. This gives the business personality and increases personality.

4. Solve a problem. Tell customers how you can solve a problem with your brand. Use brand identity to tell customers that you are the only company, or the best company, to solve their problem.

5. Have a good logo. While the logo is but a small part of the brand, it is the most recognizable. It should reflect the company’s brand in a visual representation.
